I was honoured to have the opportunity to paint Alan. Alan sadly passed away in 2020 and I was commissioned to paint his portrait. I wanted the portrait to show Alan sitting down on a bench and taking a moment to look back at his life and focus on things that he was incredibly proud of. Alan was a proud Father and was very much loved by his children so I added a small portrait of his two children in the background. Alan had a long marriage and I wanted to paint a portrait of Alan and his wife on their wedding day, this can also be seen in the background. Alan had many talents and was influential in the construction of many famous cars one of which I painted and added to the background. In the foreground I added Alans RAF blazer and tie and also a letter that Alan had written to his son.

My aim was to show Alan as he was, a brilliant and caring man and amazing Father and husband.
