Equal is my second painting of Michael. Michael is homeless and lives on the streets of Shoreditch in London. Michael has been on the streets a number of years. He has had to deal with all the issues that being homeless throws at him. He has to deal with cold, hunger and loneliness as well as fear. He also has to cope with mental trauma that hammers his head every second of the day as well as the poison of racism. He remains hopeful, full of life and determined. It is this determination that I wanted to show in my painting of Michael.

I am happy to announce that 30% of all the proceeds of the sale will go to charity. The charities that I donate to are The Innocence Project based in the US and New Hope based in the UK. The Innocence Project’s mission is to free the staggering number of innocent people who remain incarcerated, and to bring reform to the system responsible for their unjust imprisonment (www.innocenceproject.org). New Hope exists to serve individuals who are homeless or vulnerably-housed through the provision of accommodation and opportunities to transform lives (www.newhope.org.uk)

The painting will be delivered professionally in a hand crafted frame together with a signed certificate of authenticity. Delivery is free.
