James Earley will be visiting Cuba in 2024 where he will meet, sketch and interview people with the intention of creating three series of work. The first series will look at the heroic efforts of the Cuban soldiers who fought in Angola in the 1970’s which ultimately contributed to the end of the apartheid regime in South Africa. The second series will look at the recently enacted progressive Family Codes which give more rights to amongst others the LGBTQ community. The third series will look at the heroic effort of the Cuban Doctors who travel all over the world to help deal with major health crises.
James will create a selection of portraits focusing on these three categories with the paintings going on display in galleries in the UK, France and Holland.
