James Earley’s latest painting “The Magic Door”is the first piece in a new series exploring mental health and the healing power of nature.
The scene depicts Plateau de Beille in the Pyrenees, a place James visited often because of its calming presence.

“As I created this painting, I reflected on how such tranquil retreats can offer solace-both for those of us seeking peace and for children who need a safe place from trauma and turmoil. I often find myself wishing there was a “magic door” for those young souls- an escape from the shouts, screams and chaos of their childhood, offering a moment of calm and wonder”,
Through this series, James hopes to evoke awareness and compassion around mental health, illustrating the importance of gentleness and healing, both through the natural world and within ourselves.
