“Don’t Look” is a painting of reactions set in New York. I wanted to demonstrate the reactions and emotions that we create as we see a fellow human being suffering. The child looks with pity, sadness and fear. The Mother, beaten by life, directed on to the modern pathway of materialism tries to ignore this man. Ultimately I wanted the painting to show how we as human beings are born with love, compassion and kindness yet we seem to lose this on life’s journey.
