I wanted to produce a painting that casts a light on the refugee crisis and the terrible suffering that the refugees have had to endure. The portrait is of a Syrian Boy who is now living in a Turkish refugee camp.
It was really important to me that I show the devastating contradiction between the beautiful innocence of childhood and the destruction of the bombings inflicted by a foreign country. “A conversation between A Syrian Boy and A Foreign Bomb” captures the micro second when the bomb lands and is about to explode. The bomb does not have the time for conversation whilst the boy has accepted the brutality of the world that he has grown into.

Ultimately as the bomb states “Time is Money”.
