Look at Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, The Yemen. The list goes on, never ends. Children cry and scream as the planes get louder and louder as they approach, drones buzz in the air desperate to kill. It never stops. “We do it to protect human rights and restore democracy” the leaders of the west say with a smile on their face whilst behind closed doors they look at the oil costs, they look at the stock market price of the weapons manufacturers, they look at their bank balance. Shame on them.

I wanted to create a painting in a realism style showing two men praying as their city burns behind them, a drone hovers above them ready to fire. “Is that a gun?” “Permission to shoot please”

“Shame” is also available as a signed limited edition print, please see the “War and Conflict” series on the limited edition print section of the website.
