I wanted so much to capture the pain in the eyes of the child. A pain that seemed to be shocking. How a boy of such innocence can be scarred by an adult, an adult who is apparently a wiser and more intelligent individual than a young boy. What have we done?
I wanted to add Picasso’s images of Guernica into the painting which scream louder today than ever before.
